What exactly is a flate white?
The flat white has become an integral part of the coffee scene, but it is still very often confused with the cappuccino. But what is the difference between a cappuccino and a flate white coffee?
The ingredients and cup sizes are almost the same, the only difference is in the preparation. The biggest difference between these two coffee specialties is the amount of coffee, the amount of milk foam and the consistency of the milk foam.
In this course, the barista will introduce you to all the secrets of Flate White and give you tips for ideal preparation.
The name of the drink also comes from the milk foam: in the Flat White, the milk foam is flush with the edge of the cup - this is where the name “Flacher Weißer” comes from. Latte art refers to a specific pouring technique that creates fine grains on the surface of the milk foam.
The motto “practice makes perfect” also applies here: you will only become really good as a home barista once you have “trained” diligently on the grinder and machine.
